
Farzad Soleimani is a Partner at 1984 Ventures, where he leads the firm’s healthcare investments within its $200M portfolio. He has spearheaded early-stage investments in companies including Fay Nutrition, Clarium Health, and HouseRx, and is widely regarded as one of the leading healthcare investors at the seed stage.
By day, Farzad is a venture capitalist; by night, an emergency physician. He is an Associate Professor at Baylor College of Medicine and teaches at Rice Business School and the Rice Bioengineering Department.
He previously founded eTherapi, an early telemedicine pioneer, and co-founded the Texas Medical Center Biodesign Innovation Program, a cornerstone for health innovation in Houston. Farzad began his investing career at Mohr Davidow Ventures. He completed his residency at Baylor and holds an MBA, MD, MS, and BS from Stanford University.
