Jack Bixby Lucas is a third-generation venture capitalist and General Partner at Lucas Venture Group. He joined the LVG team in 2016, bringing with him a lifetime of exposure to startups, technology, and venture investing. Prior to LVG, Jack worked for six startups across roles in business intelligence, finance, project management, CNC machining, software engineering, and system administration. Through these hands-on experiences, Jack developed a deep financial and operational expertise, giving him a practical, founder-first perspective.
Jack serves as a board member of Neo Pave, and a board observer of Reputation.com, California Organic Fertilizers, and The Lucas Brothers Foundation. He’s a member of UCSD’s Beyond Horizon and participates in Bixby Land Company’s Amasa Cohort. He has also mentored for Techstars SDSU and served on SCU’s Responsible AI VC Council.
Jack graduated from Duke University with a B.S. in Economics. He was raised in Atherton, California and graduated from Menlo School. Jack lives in Encinitas, California where he enjoys spending time with family & friends, surfing, playing guitar, reading, and gardening.
