Tariq Khan is a published author, globally sought-after keynote speaker and a recognized business leader who combines corporate and professional leadership experience with academic learning. His expertise includes thought leadership, innovative marketing strategy, future trends, cultural transformation and the diversity and inclusion arena. He has had a distinguished twenty-year corporate career in the U.S. and held senior leadership roles at major global Fortune companies, including ING, Nationwide, and MetLife. In his last corporate job, Tariq was Senior Vice President and Head of Market Development at ING.
Tariq is a clinical associate professor of leadership and marketing at New York University’s SPS graduate school. Tariq has been a faculty member at NYU since 2006. He also leads the executive master’s in marketing and strategic communications program at NYU SPS.
In 2010, Tariq founded his company, Global Diversity Marketing (GDM) in New York. GDM is a leading management consulting firm that has helped global Fortune companies and coached C-Suite leaders to adapt and thrive in the changing environment. His company has provided services to several companies including major global Fortune companies.
Tariq has equally impressive contributions in the nonprofit world. He has served on the board of directors at the Asian Pacific Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS); Ascend, the largest Asian American professional network, and president of OPEN (organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs and Professionals) Global. He also served as the chairman of the board of trustees at Stratford University in Falls Church, Virginia. Tariq is also a founding board member of APIA Scholars, an organization committed to providing scholarships to APIA students. The organization has distributed more than $150 million in scholarships to more than 8,000 students since inception in 2003.
Tariq published his book, “Leadership in Changing Times”, in 2022. The book is published by a renowned publisher and used at several campuses around the world. Tariq has spoken at major events around the world, sharing stages with global CEOs, critical thinkers, and U.S. Presidents. Tariq delivers more than 100 speaking engagements every year at several companies and universities globally.
